Tyson Fury Accepts Dillian Whyte Challenge For WBC 'Diamond' Belt

Whyte has responded to Fury calling him out.

Tyson Fury has accepted WBC's order to fight Dillian Whyte.

The WBC had requested a bout between the pair of British heavyweights to determine a contender for champion Deontay Wilder.

Whyte was up for the fight, but Fury turned down the clash. However, the self-proclaimed 'Gypsy King' has performed a U-turn and has now accepted the challenge to face the Brixton-boxer but under one condition.

He wants the WBC 'diamond' belt to be on the line opposed to the interim-title.

The lineal heavyweight champion addressed WBC's demand while calling out Whyte on social media.

"I just want to say a special message to the WBC, who supported me in my come back and been very fair with me over the years," he said.

"I recently saw your quote about fighting for the interim title against Dillian Whyte and I'm very thankful for the opportunity.

"But what I suggest is, because I beat Deontay Wilder and we all know what happened, I didn't get the decision, but I still won and the world knows.

"I propose that we make me and Dillian Whyte for the WBC 'diamond' belt and not the interim belt.

"I'll take care of Dillian Whyte and I'll knock him out within six rounds.

"I accept the challenge, thank you very much. I'll fight Dillian Whyte everyday of the week and twice on a Sunday.

"Make it for the diamond belt not the interim version and you've got a deal. Let's get it on!"

Whyte has since reacted to Fury accepting WBC's order.

"Let's do it then, Tyson Fury," the 31-year-old said. "I'd fight you anytime, anywhere, seven days a week and five times on Sunday I look forward to putting you to sleep. Let's go baby."

Of course, both men are scheduled to fight in the summer. Fury will return to action on June 15 in Las Vegas when he takes on Tom Schwarz, while Whyte faces Oscar Rivas on July 20.
