Mike Tyson's coach reveals tactics for Jake Paul fight as 'impossible' prediction made

Mike Tyson's coach has explained how the heavyweight legend will approach his fight with Jake Paul.

Mike Tyson's coach has laid out the 57-year-old's tactics for his fight with Jake Paul in the summer.

Tyson, one of the greatest heavyweights of all time, returns to the ring against the YouTuber-turned-boxer on July 20 at the AT&T Stadium in Texas and live on Netflix.

It is his first bout since an exhibition contest with Roy Jones Jr in 2020, when Paul made his name on the undercard with a brutal debut knockout of Nate Robinson.

However, the suggestion is that this encounter will be sanctioned as a professional heavyweight fight.

Tyson's last competitive fight was a defeat to journeyman Kevin McBride back in 2005 but he looked sharp in a recent training video.

And with that innate knockout power in his locker, his coach Rafael Cordeiro has explained what the approach will be.

“This fight won’t be a massacre, it’s going to be a very technical match, because we have a kid on the other side that can box and isn’t afraid,” Cordeiro said in an interview with MMA Fighting. “Mike has such heavy hands, and it will be impossible not to touch Jake. Jake will feel Mike’s hands, there’s no other way, and that’s when we’ll have an idea on how the fight will go. It’s going to be interesting to see.

“Panic - he [Paul] will panic. “That’s the goal. Our goal is to keep Jake in panic the entire fight. Or for as long as he can take it.”

Paul is 9-1 professionally, with his only defeat coming against Tommy Fury in Saudi Arabia last year.

And though many fans believe it's a mismatch, Cordeiro has praised the Problem Child's abilities inside the ropes.

He added: "Jake has good boxing. You can’t say otherwise. He’s winning the fights, and his loss is a split decision to a legit boxer, not a MMA champion, and that shows his kid knows how to box.”
