Top Rank founder and CEO Bob Arum claims a rematch between Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder could be pushed forward from its 2020 date to 2019.

Plans for the eagerly awaited rematch moved ahead after Fury and Wilder agreed terms, with the bout likely to take place between February and March.

But Arum, who snapped up the 30-year-old Brit in a co-promotional deal back in February, said that a late 2019 date for the bout could happen.

"I think we have to really look at the situation, and it'll be up to ESPN and Fox, maybe we go right to the fight now," the 87-year-old American told Helen Lee.

"I felt I needed two fights with Tyson Fury in order to really have the public take a look at him and realise what a phenomenal athlete and entertainer he is, but because ESPN did such a magnificent job in helping us promote the Schwarz fight, maybe we can go right now into a Wilder fight.

"But that would depend on how the other side feel about it, how Fox and PBC feel about it.

"But I feel maybe we should be talking about stop fooling around with interim fights, where we saw with the Joshua-Ruiz fight, anything can happen."

Wilder and Fury's first encounter ended in a controversial draw back in December.

Fury outclassed German heavyweight Tom Schwarz last week to pick up a stunning second-round TKO.

And the 'Gypsy King' revealed that he would fight again in September or October before he reignites his rivalry with Wilder.

Wilder, 33, made quick work of Dominic Breazeale with a superb first-round KO to retain his WBC heavyweight title.

But the 'Bronze Bomber' has revealed plans for a rematch with Luis Ortiz before he looks ahead to a bout with Fury.

A rematch between the two heavyweight titans would be followed up with another fight to complete their trilogy of bouts, according to Arum.

"Yes, I can assure you of yes. There are a lot of good heavyweights who have had trilogies. This would be a trilogy," the Top Rank boss said earlier this month.
