Juan Manuel Marquez v Manny Pacquiao will go down as one of boxing's all-time great rivalries and Marquez' right hook midway through their fourth encounter which left Pacquiao face down on the canvas and completely motionless is one for the ages.

There's no question that prior to the Filipino's fight with Floyd Mayweather, Pacquiao's fights with Juan Manuel Marquez had been his toughest.

Marquez had come up short in his three previous attempts against Pacquiao but is widely regarded as to have been unlucky not to have come away with more.

The first clash between the two ended in a draw whilst the second and third clashes were hotly-contested Pacquiao points wins.

It was the Mexican who would have the last laugh however and their fourth fight in 2012 was a thriller while it lasted.

The two fighters traded knockdowns in the earlier rounds and Marquez was fighting on wobbly legs and with a broken nose when he caught Pacquiao with a magical counter that put Pacquiao to sleep at the end of round six.

"He never saw it coming" Pacquiao's trainer, Freddie Roach, would say at the post-fight press conference. "If you watch the replay, it's about a two-inch punch. Manny got caught swinging a little bit wild. We got caught. It was a great knockout."
