Everton manager Frank Lampard is the worst manager in the Premier League, according to the results of a survey conducted by Sky Bet ahead of the new season.

Sky Bet's Fan Hope Survey asked over 1,500 fans to vote on who they think is the worst manager in the English top division.

After his play-off heartbreak at Derby and things not working out at Chelsea, it seems that the 44-year-old still has a lot to prove to Premier League fans with just over a fifth (22%) of fans claiming that the Everton boss is the worst manager in the league.

Past grievances with the ex-Chelsea manager may have swayed the opinion of some supporters with 40% of Leeds fans and 45% of Liverpool fans that took the survey choosing the former Blue as the worst manager in the top flight.

Lampard's Everton finished four points above the relegation zone in 16th place after flirting with relegation. However, a comeback win against Crystal Palace in the penultimate game of the season meant the Toffees survived by the skin of their teeth.

Despite opposition fans fearing the worst for the Goodison Park side, 75% of Everton fans questioned believe that Lampard is in fact the right man to take their team into the 2022/23 Premier League season.

Newly-appointed Man United boss Erik ten Hag and Leeds' Jesse Marsch were voted in joint-second place as the worst managers in the league, with both receiving 9% of the vote. Whilst ten Hag is yet to make his debut in English football as a manager, fans refuse to believe he is the answer to the Man United prayers.

At the opposite end of the scale, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp finished top of the pile as the best manager in the Premier League, receiving 40% of the votes, whilst Man City manager Pep Guardiola took second place with 26%. The full list of managerial rankings according to the survey can be found on the Sky Bet Hope Survey.
