Harry Kane scores for Bayern Munich on Bundesliga debut, it was never in doubt

Harry Kane has scored in his first Bundesliga appearance for Bayern Munich against Werder Bremen.

The England international netted on his first start for Bayern to make the score 2-0, having provided the assist for the Bavarian giants' opener.

Kane's maiden goal in German football came after good work from Alphonso Davies on the left flank, with the Canadian international feeding the centre-forward, unmarked in the box between the Bremen centre-backs.

The England star let the ball come across his body before dispatching a trademark strike into the bottom left corner. The shot notably took a slight deflection off defender Amos Pieper which worked in the Three Lions captain's favour.

The goal was Kane's last contribution to the game, with the 30-year-old substituted minutes later after going down with cramp.

Just four minutes into proceedings Kane made his mark on his new side by claiming an early assist. The former Tottenham star's deft flick sent Leroy Sane racing through on goal, with the German rolling his effort past the keeper and into the bottom left corner.

Bayern ultimately won the game 4-0.

Kane dramatically left Spurs last week in a deal worth up to £100million, ending a 19-year association with the north London club.

In doing so he became the first active England captain to leave the Premier League since David Beckham joined Real Madrid from Manchester United back in 2003.

Explaining his decision to join Bayern, Kane told ESPN: "People talk a lot about trophies and there's a lot about on social media and about trophy trophies but for me it's to always improve.

"Of course I want to win. I want to win every year. When I was at Tottenham, I've never gone into a season not trying to win the trophies. So of course we know it hasn't quite happened for me yet, but I've got plenty of years to try and achieve that.

"It's not just the trophies, it's to push myself to be at a club like Munich, the pressure is a lot higher and you have to make sure you are winning titles. You have to make sure you are getting far in the Champions League, otherwise you've failed. And that's an experience I want it to feel. That's a pressure I want it to feel and that's ultimately why I've come."
