Earlier this week we celebrated the anniversary of Arsenal's incredible team goal against Norwich finished off by Jack Wilshere. But as team goals go there's few better in the modern era than Argentina's effort in the 2006 World Cup against Serbia.

The first team goal that springs to mind, especially where World Cups are concerned, is Brazil's effort in the 1970 final against Italy and Carlos Alberto's 86th minute strike that goes down as one of the best goals of all time in the tournament.

However fast forward 36 years to Germany and Argentina's effort can't be too far off.

Argentina were drawn in what looked like a difficult group with Ivory Coast, Netherlands and Serbia. They dispatched the Africans in the opening group game in a very entertaining game.

Their second game against Serbia was the easiest on paper but it was still a side that included Mateja Kezman and Savo Milosevic up front and the dangerous Dejan Stankovic in midfield.

However in the end Jose Pekerman's side wouldn't need to worry about Serbia's attacking prowess. They would win the match 6-0 but it was Cambiasso's goal that stole all the headlines.

The South American's strung together 25 passes in the build up to the goal with pretty much all of the outfield players getting a touch. It was a methodical build up until Juan Roman Riquelme and Javier Saviola injected more pace into the move and Cambiasso finished brilliantly from Hernan Crespo's backheel lay off. A goal of real beauty!

The 6-0 thrashing led many to believe that it would be Argentina's year. They then went on to beat Mexico in extra time in the second round with Maxi Rodriguez scoring the incredible winner.

Unfortunately Peckerman's side had long since peaked and came up against the hosts in the quarter finals. They should have won but the manager decided to take Juan Sebastian Veron off for Cambiasso to protect the lead but it backfired and Michael Ballack equalised with 10 minutes to go.

Argentina went on to lose on penalties with Roberto Ayala and Cambiasso missing their spot kicks but for that one long and drawn out moment against Serbia they were untouchable!
