Premier League referee Mike Dean is one of life's greatest gifts. From unintentionally celebrating a goal with his outrageous arm movements to those really strange facial expressions, the 48-year-old has made a name for himself in our beautiful game.

Dean has officiated in League Cup finals and European Championships during his prestigious career but moments like this overshadow his achievements because, well, they are so very weird.

As Manchester United and Manchester City prepared to shake hands ahead of their League Cup round of 16 tie, Mike Dean appeared to sniff his fellow official's shirt.

He then performed one of his famous facial expressions to confuse everyone watching.
