Paris Saint-Germain have released a critical statement after French publication L'Equipe reported that Blaise Matuidi and Marco Verratti were seen in a nightclub, two days before the match against Barcelona.
L'Equipe claimed that both players were spotted partying in Paris during an an event organised by the brand Puma on Monday night.
The report stated that they were at the event "well after midnight".

Following the claims, PSG stated that L'Equipe's claims were "insulting to their professionalism and their club."
PSG posted the following statement on Twitter after Friday's reports:
The club also questioned L'Equipe's motives by publishing "such lies":
Marco Verratti's agent has also made comment on the reports, slamming the "completely false" story:

"We will pursue legal action and we are studying which path to follow," he added. "The image of Verratti is sacred and we will not allow anyone to discredit it." he told Radio Crc
"It's one thing to criticise the boy technically but it's another to get into personal issues, saying things that are absolutely untrue."
French outlet L'Equipe also claim to have got wind of what Unai Emery said to his players at different points on the Wednesday night.

They claim that before the game, Emery said the following to his side:
"Show how the first leg was not a surprise! We could go out against the best team in Europe."
He also said:
"Listen to me! Although in my career I never played higher than in the second division, I have more experience than all of you, so you should listen to me."
