Many great names have great names have graced Old Trafford from legends Duncan Edwards, Sir Bobby Charlton, George Best and Denis Law to modern greats Eric Cantona, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and Liam Miller. But there's also been some less than great players too.

United's current crop are certainly not the worst bunch, that was probably more under David Moyes, but despite the signings of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paul Pogba they are far from the best group seen in the Fergie days. But then the Scotsman wasn't always perfect when it came to buying was he?

On the back of the news that Bastian Schweinsteiger has been such a flop that the Premier League side don't even consider him an asset on their financial books ESPN ran a poll to see who United's biggest flop of all time is. Unfortunately for Fergie his longevity means the list belongs completely to him with Bebe topping the charts:

The signing of the Portuguese winger was an odd one for United. He'd just signed for Vitória de Guimarães on a free but after just six pre season games the Red Devils paid his nine million euro release clause despite the fact the manager had never seen him play and was going off the back of a recommendation from Carlos Queiroz.

He made only seven appearances in four years, going out on loan several times, before reigniting his career with Rayo Vallecano last season that led to a permanent move to Eibar this year.

In total those flops cost the 13 time Premier League champions nearly £90 million!
