Gary Neville has claimed that Liverpool 'bought three £30 million forwards and turned them into £150 million forwards' as Liverpool steamrolled Arsenal on Saturday night.

Liverpool won 3-1 thanks to a Joel Matip header as well as a Mo Salah brace.

Arsenal have looked shell shocked in the second half, despite not playing poorly at all.

Jurgen Klopp's side with victory become the only side left in the division with a 100% record.

And Gary Neville has praised their front three of Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah especially throughout the game.

Speaking as a commentator on Sky Sports, United legend Neville stated:

"Liverpool have signed three £30 milion strikers and turned them into £150 million strikers, each and every one of them.

"They weren't that good, now they're outstanding.

"This is a really good team, and painful for me to watch personally."

Fans on Twitter were quick to comment on Neville's praise of the United legends former enemies.

Liverpool could have found themselves behind in the first half despite their domination.

A mix up between Adrian & Virgil Van Dijk saw the Spaniard off his line and Pierre Emerick Aubameyang attempted to lob the ball into the net.

Unfortunately for the Gabonese international it was just the wrong side of the post.

Liverpool took the lead less than five minutes before half-time following a thumping Joel Matip header.

Mo Salah converted a penalty after a David Luiz shirt pull and also converted a third.

Lucas Torreira netted a consolation just five minutes from the end.

Neville will also be pained by the fact that United fell to a 2-1 defeat against Crystal Palace earlier in the afternoon.

You have to wonder if he ever expected to be praising Liverpool as much as he has been.
