Christian Eriksen has been voted the most underrated player in the Premier League as per a poll by SPORTbible.

We asked you who you think is the most undervalued and underappreciated footballer in England's top flight and you decided that is Tottenham Hotspur's Eriksen is the one, the Denmark international beating the likes of Michael Carrick, Fernandinho., and Jordan Henderson in our recent poll.

And the results were, Eriksen coming out on top.

Eriksen has been key in Spurs' recent success. An attacking midfielder, Eriksen possess a brilliant all-round ability, including a devastating shot, as was clear in Tottenham's encounter with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last season.

£11 million was the price paid for the Dane, in a 2013 switch that saw him make the move from Ajax, where he had spent three years, to north London.

Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino said of the player last year, as per the Guardian:

"Christian is a player that does not need too much the feedback of the fans, the media and the people outside," Pochettino said. "I like that a lot. He does not need to be recognised. He needs only to feel the love from us inside the club, and he does.

"He is so special and we always call him Golazo, because he is capable of scoring unbelievable goals. The recognition from us is massive. It is true he is so quiet, so calm. He is a very relaxed person but he loves football."

Tottenham are still yet to make a purchase this transfer window, the only club in the Premier League not to do so. And because of this, some frustrations have been brewing among supporters. Daniel Levy, the club's chairman, has not been splashing the cash this summer window and it might have something to do with the expensive stadium this year.
