Bt Sports and Sky Sports are to be challenged for their TV football rights, as Facebook will come in to make a play for the broadcast rights, meaning Serie A and La Liga could well be streamed to view on the network this season.
The social media network will stream football live, in what would be revolutionary way of watching TV. This is according to a report from The Times.
This comes at a time where new channel the Eleven Sports network, which was launched just last year by Leeds United owner and Italian businessman Andrea Radrizzani, has emerged.

They managed to secured a deal in May to be able to broadcast La Liga football matches in the UK and Ireland to their viewers, something which they will be able to do for the next three years. This has left Sky Sports red in the face, as they have lost out to one of their biggest assets.
Sky Sports will be hoping to get back in the race and secure their rights once more.
The football channel gives us constant access to a number of sports but charges a premium rate.

The Champions League was at one point with ITV, where it was shown for free, but BT Sport took it over and so now football fans have to pay at least two different companies to watch a season's worth of football. This means we have to pay for two subscriptions to enjoy football throughout the season.
We hope we can get back to a simpler time, but that seems doubtful.
