Punter wins over £17,000 on 'unbelievable' four-fold bet featuring Bournemouth win over Man Utd

Punter wins over £17,000 on 'unbelievable' four-fold bet featuring Bournemouth win over Man Utd

The bet also featured Ipswich, Barnsley and Shrewsbury.

A lucky punter pocketed more than £17,000 on Saturday after he backed underdogs Bournemouth to beat Manchester United.

Coming into this weekend's clash at Old Trafford, many believed United would breeze past the in-form Cherries following an impressive midweek win over Chelsea.

But the hosts struggled from the get-go. Dominic Solanke handed Andoni Iraola's side an early lead after beating Andre Onana with a deft backheel finish.

And soon, Bournemouth would secure their first-ever Premier League win at Old Trafford as second-half goals from Philip Billing and Marcos Senesi sealed all three points.

Plenty of fans celebrated the somewhat surprising result, including X user Alex Broom, who placed a £100 stake on a four-fold accumulator featuring the Dorset-based club.

As well as including Bournemouth on his bet, Broom correctly backed in-form Ipswich to beat Middlesbrough at the Riverside – a game that finished 2-0 thanks to goals from Conor Chaplin and Omari Hutchinson.

He also predicted Barnsley's victory against struggling Reading as Neil Collins' side came from behind to secure a well-deserved 3-1 victory at the Madejski.

And finally, the Bet365 punter must have been biting his nails as Shrewsbury held on to their slender 1-0 lead against Wycombe in their League One clash at Adams Park.

Matthew Taylor's side eventually secured the win, meaning Broom walked away with a hefty £17,535.

Earlier this week, another punter scooped thousands after they placed a 50p bet on Premier League fixtures involving Manchester United and Aston Villa.

Ahead of Wednesday's clash at Villa Park, the punter was convinced Unai Emery's men could snatch all three points in their much-anticipated clash against Manchester City.

They also put money on Aston Villa to pick up the most corners and most shots on target in each half.

The ambitious 200/1 bet played out as a second-half goal from Leon Bailey gave the home side a huge win in their fight for a top-four spot.

Manchester United, meanwhile, went on to secure a win against Chelsea at Old Trafford.

The punter backed United for the victory and put money on Erik ten Hag's side to bag the most corners in each half and most shots on target in each half at 40/1. As a result, they won £4,120.50 from a 50p stake.
