Chelsea next manager odds: Premier League boss now favourite to replace Mauricio Pochettino

Chelsea next manager odds: Premier League boss now favourite to replace Mauricio Pochettino

He's the favourite.

A Premier League manager is the current favourite to replace Mauricio Pochettino at Chelsea.

Chelsea’s 4-2 defeat to Wolves on Saturday was the second time the Blues have shipped four goals in a week, after last Wednesday’s 4-1 humbling at Liverpool.

With the Blues languishing in 11th in the Premier League, Mauricio Pochettino issued a brutal takedown of his team’s performance.

"I think we are all not good enough, that's the reality," Pochettino said via Sky Sports. "Myself also, as the first person responsible. Of course, what we showed today was that we are not good enough. I agree, 100 per cent.

"We didn't manage the situation properly, and I don't want to come here and say I am the best and the players are the worst - but the players have to take responsibility as I do.

"We are not matching the history of the club. We need to accept it and be critical, but we cannot give up. We have to keep working, try hard to change, take decisions to try to find things in a different way if it's not working in this way and find different solutions."

Amid a series of dismal performances, Pochettino’s position as Chelsea manager appears increasingly precarious.

According to Sky Bet, Brighton’s Roberto De Zerbi is the favourite to inherit the job from Pochettino at 6/1.

Meanwhile, Girona head coach Michel Sanchez, who has guided the Catalan club to second in La Liga, is at 8/1.

The third favourite on the list is Jose Mourinho, who is tipped at 9/1 to return to Stamford Bridge for a third spell.

Elsewhere, Sporting manager Ruben Amorim is at 10/1 alongside Bayer Leverkusen boss Xabi Alonso and ex-Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane.

Here are the ten favourites to take over the job, as per Sky Bet. (Odds accurate at the time of writing).
