David Moyes receives shock inquiry from huge European club who are banned from UEFA competition

David Moyes has received a shock enquiry from a European club amid his uncertainty at West Ham United.

Moyes has been in charge of West Ham since December 2019 and led the club to Europa Conference League glory last season.

But his future is unclear with the Hammers as his contract is set to expire at the end of the season.

He's yet to agree a new deal, but he will hold crunch talks with owner David Sullivan in the summer.

A possible departure from West Ham could be on the cards, but it appears Moyes could make a swift return to management.

According to The Daily Mail, Spartak Moscow have asked about his 'availability' in recent weeks.

Spartak are looking for a new manager after they sacked Guille Abascal earlier this month.

And the report claims the Russian club have identified the former Manchester United boss as a potential successor to the Spaniard.

Spartak representatives have reached out the 61-year-old's team to enquiry whether he would be open to joining the club ahead of next season.

But he's reluctant to commit to Spartak as he's fully focused on the rest of the season with West Ha, per sources.

The Moscow-based outfit are currently banned from UEFA competitions following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Back in February, the veteran Scot revealed he has an offer on the table - but will wait until the end of the season to make a decision on his future.

"I've had really good conversations with the owners, with David Sullivan and Karren Brady," he said.

"There's a contract there for me and I'm the one deciding I want to wait until the end of the season."

Moyes added: "There are plenty of reasons [to wait]. I've got to make sure it's the right thing for the club, for me and my family,"

"I've spoken to the board. I've had a fabulous four years. We'll sort it out but I'm happy to wait."
