Fans in genuine shock as Premier League manager makes unexpected appearance in new music video

Fans in genuine shock as Premier League manager makes unexpected appearance in new music video

The collaboration we didn't know we needed is here.

Everton boss Sean Dyche has taken a short, but welcome break from the daily grind of football management to make an unexpected appearance in a music video.

The 52-year-old is a well-known music lover. In fact, Dyche was taken aback last week when he received a message from American rock band Green Day after their win at the Merseyside Derby.

Green Day lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong congratulated the Toffees for "kicking Liverpool's ass" – and went to describe the victory at Goodison Park as a "fantastic" one.

Since that surprise shout out, Dyche has expressed his admiration for Stockport-based band the Blossoms during an interview with 'Football Music & Me' on The Overlap.

He said: "I was with the lads from the Blossoms recently who are just great, there are so many."

Many questioned why Dyche was with the English indie rock band, but on Monday morning, a music video featuring the Everton manager gave us an unforeseen answer.

As you can see from the clip below, Dyche can be seen talking about a so-called "impeccable plan" that he has devised for the group after they broke down in a van.

He can also be seen nodding along to the track, which is set for release on Wednesday May 1.

Here's how fans on social media reacted to the teaser.

One said: "The link up we’ve all been waiting for," while another commented: "This is the greatest thing I’ve ever seen."

A third wrote: "This wasn’t on the bingo card… a good band and a good manager. Can’t wait to see this music video in full."

A fourth said: "I’ve gone from Dyche out to complete and utter adoration of the fella in the space of two weeks, it’s a funny old game."

A fifth added: "Blossoms to be on the support list for Green Day opening Bramley Moor."

The music video tops off a superb week for Everton fans. After a memorable 2-0 win against local rivals Liverpool, the Toffees secured Premier League safety with victory over Brentford.
