Brazil fans turned on Premier League star after Colombia defeat and claim they never want to see him play again

Brazil fans are not convinced.

Brazilian fans turned on one Premier League star after their defeat to Colombia and claimed that they never want to see him play again.

Brazil suffered their second consecutive World Cup qualifying defeat on Friday, losing to South American rivals Colombia for the first time in eight years.

A number of Premier League players lined up for the visitors including Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson, Tottenham full-back Emerson Royal, Newcastle's Bruno Guimraraes and Arsenal duo Gabriel Magalhaes and Gabriel Martinelli.

Martinelli opened the scoring inside five minutes, but saw his strike cancelled out by Luis Diaz's quick fire brace in the second half.

The Colombian winger's father was in attendance and had a wonderful reaction to his son's winning goal, just days after being released by kidnappers.

However, it was Martinelli's Gunners teammate, Gabriel who came under fire for his performance, with fans ripping into the 25-year-old for his erratic game.

He has been in fine fettle for Arsenal this season, contributing to the joint-best defence in the Premier League alongside William Saliba.

But Brazil fans are keen to see the back of him already after a shaky performance in Barranquilla, which saw him substituted in the 82nd minute.

Taking to Twitter, one fan wrote: "It’s genuinely scary just how bad Gabriel Magalhães has been for Brazil tonight."

While another added: "One of the worst defenders to ever put on a Brazil jersey ever, Gabriel Magalhaes.

"Almost every goal that we have conceded since he has been called up is his fault. Boneheaded defender. Always rushes when we build up from the back. Always unsure what to do."

A third asked: "Do you know how bad you have to be to get subbed off as a CB in an important qualifier?"

A fourth chimed in: "Gabriel is so bad. And he's only starting because he is left footed. Worse than Marquinhos. Doesnt know what to do when the ball is on his feet. Always unsure."
