Liverpool have been incredibly efficient in the transfer market compared to Manchester City and Manchester United since Jurgen Klopp took over.
On Friday, Klopp announced he was set to leave Liverpool at the end of the season, admitting that he was running out of energy.
Since taking the job at Anfield Klopp has won every trophy available to him other than the Europa League. The German led the Reds to a Champions League triumph in the 2018/19 season, while a year later won them their first Premier League title in 30 years.

The Reds’ success under Klopp was achieved with an overall net spend of £254million, according to the Mail Online.
Klopp has been backed with a series of major signings during his time in charge, including a club record £85million for Darwin Nunez and the £60million summer arrival of Dominik Szoboszlai.
Klopp also spent £75million and £66million respectively for Virgil van Dijk and Alisson Becker respectively, both of whom transformed the Reds into a title-challenging outfit.

While Klopp has spent £807million on players during his time in charge, they have recouped significant funds via player sales, particularly the £140million departure of Philippe Coutinho.
Klopp’s overall net spend has been dwarfed by Liverpool’s rivals, with Manchester City having a net spend of £692.3million between 2015 to 2024.
In that time the Citizens have won five Premier League titles and completed a Champions League, FA Cup and league treble.

Meanwhile, Manchester United have a net spend of £888million in the past nine years, while Arsenal and Chelsea have totalled £696.2million and £835.7million respectively.
Tottenham are the only other member of the Big Six to have spent less than a billion on transfer fees during Klopp’s reign, though they still surpass Liverpool’s net spend.
Spurs have a net spend totalling £484million, but have famously failed to win a trophy in that time.
