Two Feyenoord players are 'desperate' to join Arne Slot at Liverpool next season

Two Feyenoord players are 'desperate' to join Arne Slot at Liverpool next season

Slot could bring two Feyenoord players with him to Liverpool.

Two Feyenoord players are reportedly 'desperate' to follow manager Arne Slot to Anfield if he takes over at Liverpool this summer.

Liverpool and Feyenoord have reached an agreement in principle over the Dutchman, believed to be a compensation figure in the region of between €11 and €15 million.

The 45-year-old has confirmed he wants to move to Anfield, where he would replace Jurgen Klopp once the German departs at the end of the season.

Slot will leave Feyenoord after winning the Eredivisie title last season, and the KNVB Cup this term.

His achievements at the Dutch side have arrived alongside a positive net spend, with Slot's coaching and ability to improve players widely heralded within his home country.

And according to new reports, two of his current players want to make the move to Merseyside with him once his appointment is officially confirmed.

De Telegraaf claim that one of those players is defender Lutsharel Geertruida, who posted a photo of himself in the Liverpool away end during Saturday's 2-2 draw at West Ham onto his Snapchat account.

The 23-year-old's versatility has been a key plus point for Slot, as he can play on either side as a full-back as a centre-back.

The Netherlands international has also proved to be a reliable source of goals, as he has six league goals to his name this season.

Geertruida had strong interest from Bundesliga side RB Leipzig last summer, who saw a bid rejected by Feyenoord. At the time, the Dutch club were reportedly demanding a fee of around €40 million to sell the defender, but he is set to enter the final 12 months of his contract at De Kuip.

De Telegraaf also report that Feyenoord centre-back David Hancko has been 'crazy' about Liverpool since a young age.

The Slovakia international, who is left footed, has been linked with the Reds in previous windows and, at 26 years old, could prove to be the ideal long-term replacement for Virgil van Dijk, who is entering the final 12 months of his contract at Anfield.
