Liverpool 'ready to sell' key player after Man Utd draw with three-man list of replacements drawn up

Liverpool 'ready to sell' key player after Man Utd draw with three-man list of replacements drawn up

Liverpool are ready to sell one of their players in the wake of the draw with Manchester United.

Liverpool are ready to sell one of their players in the wake of the draw with Manchester United, it has been claimed.

On Sunday, United and Liverpool played out a thrilling 2-2 draw, just three weeks after the Old Trafford club came out on top in a seven-goal FA Cup thriller.

Luis Diaz opened the scoring for Liverpool only for Bruno Fernandes to pounce on a poor Jarell Quansah pass and level from distance against the run of play.

United then took the lead through Kobbie Mainoo, who swivelled and curled a stunning finish into the top corner. However, the 18-year-old’s goal was cancelled out by a late Mohamed Salah spot-kick after Aaron Wan-Bissaka fouled Harvey Elliott in the box.

Salah has had another stellar season for the Reds, having scored 17 times and claimed a further nine assists in the Premier League this team.

Yet according to HITC, Liverpool football chief Michael Edwards is ready to sanction the departure of Salah this summer.

Al Ittihad had a £150million verbal offer rejected for the Egyptian last summer and it has been widely accepted that the Saudi Pro League would make another attempt to sign the 31-year-old, who has less than 18 months remaining on his current Liverpool deal.

Edwards will allegedly sanction Salah’s exit if he makes it clear he is ready to make the move to the Middle East, where he would reportedly become the highest-paid player in the world.

The publication added that should Salah leave, numerous targets have been identified, including Wolves’ Pedro Neto, Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams and Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz.

Salah told Sky Sports in March: “No. It’s part of life now, that everything moves. Players have left already, very important players. The manager is also very important for the club and is leaving.

“One day I will leave the club, but no [Klopp leaving doesn’t affect my future].”
