Mohamed Salah made history in Liverpool's Europe League rout of Sparta Praha at Anfield.

Liverpool took a 4-0 lead and 9-1 aggregate advantage over Sparta Praha within 15 minutes of their Europa League round-of-16 second leg.

The Prague side claimed a goal back on the stroke of half time to make the scored at the break 4-1 and give the travelling support something to celebrate.

But the game's most notable goal was the Reds' third courtesy of club talisman, Salah, with the strike securing the Egyptian a slice of history.

In netting, Salah became the first Liverpool player ever to score 20 goals in all competitions for a seventh successive season.

Salah is fifth in Liverpool's top scorers list, having scored some 206 goals in 336 Liverpool games.

Roger Hunt (285), Gordon Hodgson (241) and Billy Liddell (228) are ahead of the Egyptian, while Ian Rush is far and away the club's record scorer, having scored for the Merseyside outfit on 346 occasions.

Salah's future, however, remains a point of contention at Anfield, with the player into the final 18 months of his contract there.

Liverpool rejected a £150million verbal offer from Saudi Pro League side Al Ittihad for the winger's services last summer, and the burgeoning division in Saudi Arabia has been widely tipped to renew their interest in the player in the coming window.

Salah, meanwhile, has insisted Jurgen Klopp's impending departure will have no implications on his own future.

Speaking to Sky Sports pundit and former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher, Salah said: "No. It's part of life now, that everything moves. Players have left already, very important players. The manager is also very important for the club and is leaving.

"One day I will leave the club, but no [Klopp leaving doesn't affect my future]."
