Bernardo Silva pictured with new look in Man City training - and fans think they know why

Bernardo has changed his appearance.

Manchester City star Bernardo Silva has been pictured with a new look during training on his club's pre-season tour.

The Portugal midfielder has been linked with a move away from the Etihad Stadium this summer, with Barcelona and PSG among the interested clubs.

According to the Daily Mirror, City want the 30-year-old to commit to a new contract in order to warn off other clubs. His current deal expires in 2025, and the treble winners are said to have offered him a further two-year extension.

Silva, who is said to be valued at £70 million by manager Pep Guardiola, was named in City's travelling squad for their pre-season tour of Japan and South Korea.

He has been pictured in training ahead of his side's opening friendly against Yokohama F Marinos on Sunday - with a notable change to his appearance.

Silva has changed his look in the off-season - and fans have had their say on social media.

Fans react as Bernardo Silva debuts new look

Silva has been pictured with a shaved head in training ahead of City's opening friendly - and, because why not, fans think it is just another sign that City will retain their Premier League trophy this season.

One wrote: "Yeah it's so over for the Prem."

Another said: "We are balling if he stays."

A third added: "The Premier League is finished."

Meanwhile, a fourth predicted: "He's not going anywhere, rivals better be scared."

Some fans have even devised a theory behind Silva's new hairstyle, suggesting that he has done so in tribute to former City team-mate David Silva.

The Spaniard suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury in training with current club Real Sociedad earlier this week.

And The Athletic claim that the legendary midfielder, 37, is now set to retire following the injury, which typically keeps players out of action for around nine months.

One wrote: "One Silva showing respect to another Silva."

Another said: "So much respect."

The real reason behind the haircut hasn't been revealed - but we may yet hear the truth from the midfielder himself after City's first pre-season game.
