Manchester United fans are loving a video of Bruno Fernandes stopping for a supporter to sign a shirt and pose for a picture after the club made him captain.

A clip of a fan trying to get the attention of a Man United player at the entrance of Carrington has gone viral following Thursday's announcement.

The footage, which was originally uploaded on social media last month, shows a supporter attempting to stop a Man United player from arriving and leaving training.

Casemiro, Fred, Antony, Diogo Dalot and Marcus Rashford can be seen ignoring the person's request until Fernandes turns up.

In his Bentley Continental, the Portuguese maestro rolls down his window and poses for a photo before signing a Man United shirt in a classy gesture.

Man United fans online loved the 28-year-old's actions towards the fan.

One Twitter user wrote: "Knew who it would be to stop... Easily the most humble player we have who remembers where he came from... What a captain."

A second tweeted: "It’s so funny to me that rivals hate on Bruno as a person because he moans on the pitch but in reality he seems genuinely nice and down to earth."

A third added: "That’s my captain."

A fourth said: "I mean how can you not love him."

Another commented: "Always Bruno," accompanied with a heart emoji.

Fernandes, who skippered Man United when Harry Maguire didn't play last season, has been made the new club captain after the England defender was stripped of the captaincy.

"Bruno Fernandes has been named as the new club captain of Manchester United," the club statement reads.

"The Portuguese midfielder has already worn the armband for United on numerous occasions and Erik ten Hag has confirmed that he will now lead the team on a permanent basis.

"Fernandes has scored 64 goals and contributed 54 assists in just 185 games for the club since joining in 2020.

"As captain, the two-time Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year will continue to drive the highest standards throughout the squad as United push for success in the 2023/24 season and beyond."
