Man Utd fans all making same point about Erik ten Hag after Champions League result

Manchester United fans have come for Erik ten Hag after Tuesday night's Champions League action.

Manchester United fans have all been making the same point after seeing Borussia Dortmund reach the Champions League semi-finals.

Dortmund edged out Atletico Madrid in a thrilling Champions League quarter-final second leg on Tuesday night.

Atleti led 2-1 from the first leg but Dortmund turned it around on their own patch and were leading 3-2 on aggregate going into the second half.

But a Mats Hummels own goal and a strike from Angel Correa pulled Diego Simeone's level on the night and put them 4-3 up on aggregate.

The hosts found another two goals though, with Niclas Fullkrug and Marcel Sabitzer finding the net and sending Dortmund into the semi-finals after a 6-4 win across the two legs.

The result could deal United a major blow when it comes to their Champions League qualification hopes.

But after seeing on-loan Jadon Sancho and former loanee Marcel Sabitzer, play an integral part in the triumph, United fans vented about Ten Hag afterwards.

One commented: "Sabitzer and Sancho stepping up in the UCL and Ten Hag still sticking with this Bruno and Garnacho gimmick."

A second agreed: "Sancho & Sabitzer (Ten Hag rejectees) helping their team to the UCL SF, somewhere United haven’t been since 2011."

A third added: "Sancho and Sabitzer run away from Ten Hag ship and now they'll be playing in the Champions League semi-finals. Others are watching on TV."

Another user wrote: "Sancho and Sabitzer weren’t good enough for Ten Hag btw."

A fifth fumed: "Ten Hag on the floor rn witnessing Sabitzer and Sancho world-class performance."

Dortmund will take on PSG in the semi-finals having already played them home and away.

United, meanwhile, were eliminated in the group stages after a dire campaign and currently find themselves seventh in the Premier League.

The Red Devils look set to play in either the Europa League or Europa Conference League next term.
