Rasmus Hojlund's reaction to Kobbie Mainoo being substituted against Burnley speaks volumes

One fan captured Hojlund's reaction to the Manchester United substitution.

Rasmus Hojlund's reaction to Kobbie Mainoo being substituted by Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag against Burnley has emerged - and it appears to speak volumes.

Both Mainoo and Hojlund were substituted on 65 minutes during the 1-1 draw at Old Trafford, with Scott McTominay and Amad Diallo taking their places.

The changes were booed by sections of United's home support, who clearly wanted to see the two players remain on the pitch.

It was a difficult afternoon for Hojlund, who received more passes from goalkeeper Andre Onana than any United outfield player.

But he thought he was witnessing a United victory when Antony put them ahead on 79 minutes with his first goal of the season.

However, Burnley equalised on 87 minutes through Zeki Amdouni, after the Swiss international was clattered by Onana and given a penalty kick.

The equaliser summed up the mood around Old Trafford 20 minutes earlier, when fans were left furious at Ten Hag's substitutions.

One fan captured how Hojlund reacted upon hearing that Mainoo was being taken off. And it is fair to say the United star was taken aback - whether that be because of the veracity of the boos or the fact that Mainoo was the player to make way.

After the game, Ten Hag defended his side and spoke about their positive style of play - but admitted he was 'frustrated' at United's latest failure to hold on to a lead this season.

He told BBC Sport: "We are one of the most dynamic and entertaining teams in the league at this moment. We are creating loads of chances by playing good football.

"It was unnecessary to lose control. We repaired this at half-time, and the second half was much better.

"It is not easy to get fourth when you're so far behind. We needed to win. The past few weeks, we've got in winning positions and then given it away.

"I'm very frustrated. In phases of the game, we did very good, but in the end you have to take the three points.

"We gave it away and it's very frustrating. We were in a winning position, and again we gave the game away."
