The Wayne Rooney And Dirty Sanchez Advert Is 10 Years Old Now And Still Absolutely Brilliant

The then Manchester United forward was part of Nike's series of adverts with the Dirty Sanchez boys as he fired shots at him.

There is nothing more than early to mid 00s than Dirty Sanchez, Wayne Rooney and Nike Total 90's and they once combined for one of the sport's clothes manufacturers classic adverts.

The poor youth of today, living in total bliss and ignorance of barely knowing about Dirty Sanchez and the antics of the Welsh boys. Heck they might not even know about Jackass.

Dirty Sanchez was a stunt and prank tv series about four friends who did some of the most outrageous things together, like Jackass only with a taste of Wales.

At the height of their popularity the Sanchez lads smashed their way into Rooney Manor in order to have a kickabout with Wayne Rooney, all in aid of Nike's Total 90s:

Funnily enough though there was more to the video of Rooney hitting balls at the lads as hard as humanly possible than met the eye.

In an interview in 2016 with Wales Online they revealed that they'd actually spent £7,000 on booze the night before the shoot, all thanks to Nike.

Lee Dainton spoke to the online publisher saying, "It was Nike's money, and they have all the money on the planet, and so we tried to drink the bar dry.

"You don't get a gift horse like that often. We were like, man, let's go. We were drinking really, really expensive bottles of wine that cost hundreds of pounds each."

And it's a miracle they even got to the shoot, "We went to bed at half-four and had a half-seven wake up call to go and film," Dainton added, "We went down to the foyer and Pancho had not even made it to bed from the bar. He walked straight from the bar and went straight to the shoot."

"It was the biggest production shoot we had ever done and we were all drunk."

The four men were put up in Liverpool's Crowne Plaza and clearly made the best of the situation before getting to do the video with 'Wazza.'

They then went on to fim more videos for the adverts with other footballers, including Gennaro Gattuso and Florent Malouda, and we can only assume they didn't spend quite as much on beer for the rest of the trip.

Man the early 00s were great. Long live Wayne Rooney, Total 90s and of course Dirty Sanchez!
