Gary Neville Hits Back At Jamie Carragher Barb With Great Comeback

These two are brilliant together.

The weekend seems like the perfect time for some Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher banter. Sure the two are often taking shots at each other on Monday Night Football but away from the cameras it seems more a weekend pastime.

The once former foes are now mainly friends. But they're the kind of friends who tell each other to "fuck off" in a friendly way, no matter whose company they're in, everyone just knows that the pair are like a weird married couple.

As players the pair were part of the most heated and long standing rivalry in the Premier League and played many Manchester United vs Liverpool matches against each other but on Sky Sports they are the two best pundits and provide the perfect foil for one another.

However that doesn't stop them taking the occasional dig at each other on social media. Carragher used the news that his friend and former teammate Steven Gerrard was returning to Anfield as a coach as the perfect chance to remind Neville of his failed managerial career at Valencia:

However there was no way that Neville was going to let 'Carra' get away with that as he explained exactly why he could never have been a coach at Liverpool, besides for his hatred of course:

Take a look at our video documenting some of the bad blood between United and Liverpool:

Neville took charge of La Liga side Valencia in December 2015 but only lasted as manager of the club until March. Having gone nine games without a win at the beginning of his tenure he only won three of 16 matches in charge.

The former right back then lost his job as England assistant manager after the disastrous Euros and basically ended his coaching career, deciding to return to punditry and commentating.

Valencia are on their third manager since Neville and are in another relegation battle, perhaps he wasn't all that bad after all.
