Steve McClaren has been in the headlines recently after being sacked by Derby County for the second time following a dire run of form.

And when news of his sacking came about, a memorable McClaren clip started doing the rounds again so we thought it would be worth reliving the iconic piece of television.

After being relieved of his duties at Newcastle United last season, the former England boss was part of Sky Sports News' coverage of Euro 2016 and was providing updates on games.

One of the games he was selected for was the last 16 game between England and Iceland, which ended in an embarrassing defeat for the Three Lions.

McClaren is no stranger to embarrassing defeats, even at international level, but he gave us an inclination of why he's not exactly had great success in English football with some of his comments during the England-Iceland game.

Just when the 55-year old was spraying his positivity about how well England were playing and how they didn't really have anything to worry about, Iceland scored their second, with Kolbeinn Sigthorsson, the player McClaren was talking about, finding the net.

His reaction was priceless and the clip went viral.

No wonder he's been given the 'Wally with a brolly' nickname!

A final bit of Steve McClaren goodness before you go, here's McClaren predicting that Manchester United would win the Premier League back in August:

In fairness, after United's spending in the summer, his prediction wasn't too far fetched at the time.

But there's no way a 55-year old man should be saying "boom" and "bang" that many times.
