Everyone's really looking forward to the World Cup in Russia in around 18 months right? It's going to be a really friendly and lovely place to be. Some politicians are so excited by it all they want to ban the FIFA 17 game from the country so not to ruin football before the tournament, or because they're a bunch of homophobic fuck wits!
EA recently joined the Premier League and all it's clubs, along with a whole load of forward thinking people, in supporting Stonewall's campaign for equality in football for LGBT people.
You may have seen the campaign in the guise of rainbow laces or rainbow captain's armbands a couple of weeks ago in the Premier League. And EA added their weight behind the campaign with a downloadable rainbow kit:

"Make sport everyone's game," seems like a pretty acceptable tagline for most of us after all who would actually want to stop everyone enjoying sport? Well some Russian politicians.
Because of the move to add the Rainbow kit some politicians in Russia believe that the game now contravenes the country's rules on promoting "homosexual propaganda." I'm not convinced suggesting everyone should be welcome to play football is using misleading information to force your views on someone, but okay?
According to Russian paper Izvestia Communist MP Valery Rashkin to EA Sports to, "introduce changes to the programming code or the age classification of this information product, and if it refuses, adopt corresponding restrictive measures" because the rainbow shirts might cause "harm to children's health and development."
