John Terry will no longer be a Chelsea player at the end of this season. The club and their captain today announced the upcoming split and his former teammate has paid an emotional tribute to the defender.

Other than a loan period at the back end of the last century the centre back has been at Stamford Bridge for his whole career, becoming a stalwart of the team.
The 36 year old has played 713 times for the Blues and won four Premier League titles with the club as well as many other honours.

Now though, with his contract coming to an end at the end of the season, the club captain will be walking away from Stamford Bridge.
And his former teammate Frank Lampard paid an emotional tribute to Terry, calling him "the greatest defender in the Premier League history."
What happens to Terry's career next is anyone's guess.
