Arsenal and Chile's Alexis Sanchez took to social media 'liking' a post describing his accomplishments amid being snubbed in the 30-man Ballon d'Or shortlist.
France Football is back in charge of the award with international managers and captains no longer voting for the best player of the previous 365 days which could snap the Ronaldo-Messi monopoly.
The usual suspects make up the list with the likes of Premier League based Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Jamie Vardy, Sergio Aguero among others nominated. International colleague Arturo Vidal is also vying for the prestigious award. Here's the full line-up.
But despite claiming international honours as well as being named player of the tournament in the Copa America not to mention guiding Arsenal to a second spot ahead of fierce-rivals Spurs in the Premier League, Sanchez was unable to land a spot to the surprise of many.

The influential attacker simply liked a post on Instagram outlining the crucial role he has played for both club and country. We couldn't have said it better ourselves.
