Barcelona could be ready to snub a move for Antoine Griezmann after reports in Spain emerged that the club are in 'advanced talks' over another player.

The Atlético Madrid ace announced that he would leave his current side at the end of the season and the La Liga champions have been the favourites to land him this summer.

However, it would seem that the Spanish club's interest in the 28-year-old World Cup-winning Frenchman has cooled down.

According to Diario AS, Barça are making serious headway in a deal for Valencia's Rodrigo.

The 28-year-old Spaniard has a contract that runs until 2022, but the Spanish newspaper claims that Barcelona are ready to meet his €120m release clause.

Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde, who has come under heavy criticism following his side's defeats in the Champions League and the Copa del Rey, is keen to add more variety in his attacking options.

Rodrigo, who can be deployed as either a winger or a striker, would provide another option for Luis Suárez up front if needed.

The Spain international has had a solid campaign for Valencia, making 51 appearances across all competitions, scoring 15 times and assisting on ten occasions.

It is reported that Barcelona might try to lower the cost of the Valencia star by adding one of their players to the deal, with Valencia showing interest in Jasper Cillessen, who has been linked with Manchester United, and Denis Suárez.

Football Espana adds that Roma have been interested in securing the services of Rodrigo, though the Barcelona target is reportedly eager to stay in Spain in the hopes of securing a place in Luis Enrique's squad for Euro 2020.

Griezmann, on the other hand, has been on international duty with France, with his release clause set to drop from €200m to €120m on 1st July.

Following on from France's 2-0 win against Bolivia, the Atlético forward admitted that he was unsure where his future would take him after his time with Los Rojiblancos.

"I do not know when my future will be resolved," he said (via Marca).

"It is a good question, but everything will come in its time.

"It is always a wonderful thing to play for the national team, we all enjoy it, not everyone can live this experience and we are proud to represent France."

Should Barcelona move for Rodrigo instead of Griezmann?
