Despite not playing a single minute of their FA Cup clash against Arsenal last night, Wayne Shaw was the talk of the town following his antics prior to kick-off and on the sidelines.

Shaw became a bit of an online celebrity during the non league team's run to the fifth round of the FA Cup for being the roly poly goalie who helps around the ground as a bit of a caretaker whilst also sitting on the bench.

(Unfortunately, Shaw didn't make an appearance last night. Well, on the pitch he didn't.)

Though last night he was once again centre of attention when he was filmed sat on the bench eating a pie, after all three of Sutton's subs had been used.

At first it looked like a hilarious 'magic of the cup' moment but on further 'investigation' it was shown to be a cynical piece of advertising.

From hoovering the dug-outs, nipping out to the bar at half-time to the controversial pie gate. And he's now been asked to resign by Sutton United, and has since agreed to it as confirmed by Kay Burley of Sky Sports:

The 46-year-old has since reacted to the news taking to Twitter to post the following message:

Manager Paul Doswell - who became just as famous as Shaw after vaping on the sidelines - expressed his disappointment in the keeper:

Match of the Day host Gary Lineker also weighed in on the Shaw situation:
