Lionel Messi Visits Egypt To Raise Awareness For Health Campaign

Lionel Messi's trip to Egypt was delayed for a week following Barcelona's thumping Champions League defeat to Paris Saint-Germain but the Argentine has eventually made it out to North Africa for a very good cause.

His trip to Cairo was part of a domestic health campaign to fight Hepatitis C which was coordinated by Egypt's Health and Tourism ministries.

The campaign was launched by Egyptian government in order to motivate patients of Hepatitis C from all around the world to seek treatment in Egypt, as it is cheaper and more effective, according to King Fut.

Messi was transported to the sight of the pyramids under heavy security presence as the video above shows. But once he eventually got to his destination, he was able to sample the country's iconic landmarks.
