Earlier in the week defender Daniel Agger announced his retirement from football.
Agger played for two clubs; Danish side Brondby and Liverpool, where he enjoyed most of his success, as well as captaining his national side, Denmark.
Though the 31-year-old has raised some serious allegations against his former club, claiming that Liverpool giving him too much painkillers led to his early retirement, according a report from Bild. Agger player for the Premier League outfit for eight years from 2006 to 2014, where he revealed he had to prematurely retire due to health reasons arising from the painkiller practice at Liverpool.
The problem wasn't just in England, too. During his spell with Brondby, Agger was forced to take the medication along with caffeine recalling a story where he fell asleep on the team bus en route to a match day before having to be substituted 29 minutes in after losing control of his body

"I have taken too many painkillers in my career. I know it, and that is bad. But I've stopped doing it now."
He finished with, "I'm done with this circus."
