It's been quite the year for Dele Alli, from helping MK Dons to promotion from League One to being important enough for England to be rested in the final group game of Euro 2016 in just over a year, not bad. The Spurs central midfielder's choice for best ever England player just proves how young he is.

Alli was mightily impressive for Spurs in his first season in the Premier League and finished as PFA Young Player of the Year and then continued that form for England as he set up Daniel Sturridge's last minute winner against Wales.

Whilst he isn't the youngest man in the squad, with Marcus Rashford two years his junior, he is the second youngest player of a very young England squad that Roy Hodgson has taken to France. In a Q&A today Alli revealed that he reckons his footballing hero Steven Gerrard is the best England player of all time.

Regardless of your exact opinion on the former Liverpool captain there's got to be little doubt that he's definitely not the greatest England player of all time, you'd have to be pretty wet behind the ears to come up with that one. Here's the entire Q&A session:

The Spurs midfielder was tracked by the club he supported, Liverpool, before signing with Tottenham but the Reds decided against signing the 20 year old who only cost Spurs £5 million, he could have been the perfect replacement for Gerrard.
