French authorities have launched an investigation into match-fixing claims over Red Star Belgrade's Champions League clash with Paris Saint-Germain.

According to the French newspaper L'Équipe, UEFA raised concerns over the issue when it became apparent that a senior figure at the Serbian club was working with conspirators to place a €5m bet on Red Star to lose by a five-goal difference.

PSG thrashed Red Star 6-1 at the Parc des Princes, with Neymar scoring a hat-trick for the French club.

The defending Ligue 1 champions have had a sensational start to their title defence and have won all nine of their opening matches in the league.

Off the back of a fantastic World Cup campaign, Kylian Mbappé has continued his form over for his club and recently scored four times in 13 minutes against Lyon.

The 19-year-old former Monaco striker is the international cover star for this month's Time, revealing why he had donated his World Cup wage to charity.

"I did not need to be paid," he told the magazine. "I was there to defend the colors of the country.

"Also, I earn enough money -- a lot of money. So I think it is important to help those who are in need. A lot of people are suffering, a lot of people have diseases.

"For people like us, giving a helping hand to people is not a big thing.

"It doesn't change my life, but it changes theirs. And if it can change theirs, it is a great pleasure.

"I gave the money to the charity where I am a sponsor [Mbappé sponsors the French charity Premiers de Cordée] because being handicapped is something difficult. Showing them that they can do sports like everyone it is something close to my heart."

PSG are currently third in Group C and are level on points with Liverpool. Thomas Tuchel's side lost their opening match against the Reds thanks to Roberto Firmino's late strike.

They will take on Napoli, who are at the top of Group C, on October 28th at the Stadio San Paolo.

Can Tuchel win the Champions League with the Parisian club?
