The Wales skipper was fortunate not to see red last night

Neil Taylor received a red card for his horror challenge on Seamus Coleman during Ireland's 0-0 draw with Wales last night and Didi Hamann feels Gareth Bale should have shared a similar fate.

Taylor was given his marching orders after a horrendous tackle which saw Coleman leave the field on a stretcher with a broken leg.

And Liverpool legend Hamann believes the Aston Villa defender shouldn't have been alone in being sent off at the Aviva Stadium.

Hamann took to Twitter and blasted Real Madrid forward Bale for a challenge which he described as 'cowardly' on Sunderland centre-back John O'Shea.

The 43-year-old pulled no punches as he went on an epic rant over Bale's challenge, even confronting several social media users who disagreed with his opinion:

Is Hamann right in his comments over Bale's tackle on the ex-Manchester United player?

Or is calling the challenge 'cowardly' a step too far from the pundit?
