Figures for the top 10 best selling football shirts in terms of clubs have been revealed and the study shows that Manchester United are the top dogs when it comes to shirt sales.

La Liga giants Real Madrid and Barcelona are still near the top, while there's more Premier League presence from Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool.

As per figures seen in a number of tabloids, here are the top 10 worldwide best selling football shirts in full:

10. AC Milan

At the very bottom of the top 10 is AC Milan, who can very much be considered a fallen giant following their slump over the past few years. In the past three seasons they have finished in 8th, 10th and 7th in Serie A and the fact their squad is no longer packed with global superstars has had a huge detriment on the amount of shirts they are selling. It currently stands at 650,000.

9. Paris Saint-Germain

Next up is PSG. Since the influx of money from Qatar Sports Investments and the arrival of several big-name players, PSG have been on an upwards spiral and they have won Ligue One four times on the trot. In terms of their number of shorts sold, they have flogged 685,000.

8. Liverpool

They haven't been recognised in football's elite for a number of years now but Liverpool are still in the top 10 as far as shirts are concerned. They are believed to have sold 705,000 worldwide. Their star man Philippe Coutinho is in the top eight for worldwide shirt sales.

7. Juventus

Juventus have been the dominant force in Italy for the past five seasons - a period in which they have won the Serie A title every year. Unsurprisingly, they are the leading club in Italy for shirt sales with 850,000.

6. Arsenal

Arsenal's 2016/17 shirt sales numbers are past the one million park, currently standing at 1.225 million - which is also the same number of views Arsenal Fan TV get on meltdown videos after another dismal defeat. In Mesut Ozil, Arsenal have the player with the fifth highest shirt sales worldwide.

5. Bayern Munich

The German giants have sold 1.5 million shirts this season in total, cementing their place as the biggest club in Germany.

4. Chelsea

Premier League leaders Chelsea are fourth in the football shirt worldwide sales rankings, with 1.65 million shirts sold. Roman Abramovich will like those numbers a lot.

3. FC Barcelona

Just short of 2 million shirt sales, Barcelona's figures currently stand on 1.98m. Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez = goals and shirt sales. Lionel Messi is the top footballer in the world for shirt sales, with his compatriot Neymar five places behind in sixth.

2. Real Madrid

Real Madrid absolutely love shirt sales. The base the majority of their signings on how many shirts they will sell, with the majority of their 'Galactico' signings orientated around how marketable the player was. Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and co. are doing well in the shirt sales department, with the Champions League and Club World Cup winners selling 2.29m worldwide.

1. Manchester United

Manchester United's summer business is proving fruitful in terms of shirt sales as the Red Devils are at the cream of the crop. They sold 2,850,000 in the last year and clearly the big-money signing of Paul Pogba and the shrewd capture of Zlatan Ibrahimovic is paying dividends off the pitch, even if the duo have yet to propel United to the top four as of yet. Pogba is in third in the shirt selling department, while Ibrahimovic slightly behind him in fourth.
