Liverpool's current Under-23 coach looks set to depart the club for a move to Sao Paulo - meaning a job back at the club he loves could be waiting for Steven Gerrard.

According to Brazilian newspaper O Globo, new Sao Paulo boss Rodrigo Ceni sees youth team coach Michael Beale as an ideal candidate to become his assistant manager, with the paper claiming Beale has already travelled to Brazil and watched his new side with Ceni last Sunday in an under-20s tournament.

The report also speculates Beale's appointment could take place as early as next week - so would Gerrard be interested in taking over the reins?

The former England captain has spoken openly about a career in management, and was linked to the vacancy at MK Dons last month.

But would a job working with future Anfield stars be more up his street? It seems if Beale's impending move does come off then Gerrard would be the ideal candidate to take over.

What do you think of the situation?
