James Rodriguez endured a frustrating afternoon for Al-Rayyan after a bizarre sending off in their 2-1 defeat to Al-Arabi on Saturday, as reported by The Mirror.
The 30-year-old was making his third appearance for the Qatar Stars League side, and will have every right to feel hard done by after being shown his marching orders following two strange refereeing decisions.
The Colombian was shown a yellow card despite being on the receiving end of a crunching challenge on the edge of the box, which left him writhing on the floor.
As he stepped up to take the free kick, he was shown a yellow card despite not being involved with the melee which ensued following the challenge.
The former Real Madrid man angrily protested to the referee and was subsequently shown a second yellow card. The footage shows the attacking midfielder sarcastically applauding the official as he exited the pitch.

The two-time Champions League winner moved to the Middle East in September after being frozen out of the Everton side following Rafael Benitez's arrival as manager.
The Spaniard alluded to Rodriguez's poor injury record as to one of the main reasons for his departure.
"We have to maximise the resources we have," he said when explaining Rodriguez's departure in quotes published by The Mirror last month.
"Having a player being available for 50% of games in the Premier League is not something we can manage easily."
Rodriguez was brought to Merseyside by Carlo Ancelotti and his time at Merseyside ended with a whimper, after a promising start to life in the Premier League. He made 26 appearances and scored 6 goals in just over a year with the Toffees.
He has scored 1 goal in 3 league appearances for Al-Rayyan to date, with that solitary strike coming in a 4-2 win over Al-Sailiya on Tuesday.

But yesterday's game was the latest setback in what is currently a low point in Rodriguez's career, as he suffered a 3-0 defeat on his Al-Rayyan debut against Al-Duhail.
