Jack Rodwell Hasn't Started A Winning League Game In A Long, Long Time

Jack Rodwell was once one of the unfortunate youngsters to be unfairly labelled with the 'Next Big Thing In English Football' tag and, surprise surprise, the former Everton midfielder has struggled to live up to his lofty billing ever since leaving Goodison Park in 2012.

The England international endured a miserable two seasons as a Manchester City player, being transformed from a potential wonderkid in the making to a fringe player brought in solely to bolster the then Premier League champions lacking options in the 'home grown' talent department.

Two years and just twenty five appearances later, Rodwell found himself sold on to Sunderland, where, now in his third season, not only has the Mackems man not managed to break the 30 games in a season barrier, he's also not won a single Premier League game that he's started. In fact, Rodwell's winless starting streak in the top flight stretches back three and a half years.

Rodwell's last victory as a Premier League starter came in May 2013, when he was named in the starting XI for Manchester City's 1-0 home victory over West Brom on the 7th May, 2013.

As you can imagine, Sunderland fans are thrilled that Rodwell continues to be selected by David Moyes with the Black Cats bottom of the league, five points from safety:
