Francesco Totti Drops A Bombshell Over His Future

The King of Rome isn't happy...

If any current player symbolises his team more than Francesco Totti at AS Roma then we don't know about him. The Italian legend could have gone to Real Madrid earlier in his career but stuck to his hometown club. However that could be about to change...

The 39 year-old is the only man left from Roma who played in their 2000/01 Serie A title winning side and is still going strong in his 24th season for the capital club. His latest appearance was in the team's Champions League loss to Real Madrid as a substitute.

However the 2006 World Cup winner isn't happy with the situation at Roma since Luciano Spalletti started his second stint as manager at the Olympico. The club legend stated "I still feel like a player who is physically in good shape and I want to play. The injury is behind me now and if I don't play it is purely down to a tactical decision."

The Italian then dropped a huge bombshell about his future saying: "I can't stay at Roma like this. It hurts to be on the bench. I understand at my age that I play less, but ending my career like this is bad for me as a man and what I've given to Roma. I demand more respect for all I've done here...My contract expires in June, I await news from (President James) Pallotta and will evaluate the situation. I expect the fairness of people telling me the reality of the situation and how things really are."

We can't imagine a world without Totti at Roma seeing as he started playing there in the 1992/93 season!

Would Il Bimbo d'Oro, the golden boy, really leave his boyhood club or would he retire?
