Marcello Lippi has one of the most impressive managerial CV's in football, having lifted the Champions League in both Europe and Asia, the World Cup and five Serie A titles, but even the man himself will have been stunned by the size of the contract the Chinese FA just handed him to become their new national team manager.

The former Juventus and Italy boss is set to pocket a jaw dropping £18m-a-year, which proves that winning three straight Chinese Super Leagues with Guangzhou Evergrande is enough to impress the Chinese FA into spending the debt of a third world country on your services.

The 68-year-old takes over the Chinese national team with them currently propping up Group A of the Asian section of World Cup qualifying for the 2018 tournament.
