Manchester United were deservedly beaten by cross-town rivals City in the anticipated derby clash eventually losing 2-1 but the club are reportedly set to offer a contract extension to Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The Swedish frontman bagged yet another goal during the derby day defeat with a superbly taken volley, and he is set to be rewarded for his impressive start to life in the Premier League.

Following signing an initial 12-month contract back in the summer, according to The Mirror Jose Mourinho is ready to take up the option on his deal that will see him stay beyond his 38th birthday offering him a three-year-contract.

The 34-year-old joined from Paris-Saint Germain while already enjoying cult hero status among the United faithfuls after four league goals in as many games.

Not to mention his match winner against Leicester City in the Community Shield winning his first trophy in the process, albeit a shit one, and more importantly, the presence he bears in the dressing room.
