Incredible support...

There's a case for Sunderland fans being the best set of supporters in English football at the moment.

The Mackems now find their beloved club playing League One football after suffering back-to-back relegations. But while it's been a messy period on Wearside, you cannot fault the support from the Black Cats faithful.

For the clash with Bradford City on Boxing day, 45,000 fans packed into the Stadium of Light - which is the highest third tier attendance for 39 years.

And then today it was more of the same from Sunderland fans. New Year's Day is typically designed for staying in, lounging about and generally recovering from the night before - but nearly 8,000 proud supporters made the trip up to Bloomfield Road to see their side in action against Blackpool.

Those who watched the 'Sunderland Till I Die' series on Netflix will be aware of how poorly run the club have been in recent years and so with that all considered, the fans deserve enormous credit.
