New Arsenal Signing Cohen Bramall Opts For Unconventional Squad Number
Arsenal new boy Cohen Bramall has decided to try and make himself stand out from the crowd at the north London club after electing to wear a rather unusual squad number.
The exciting 20-year-old midfielder became Arsenal's first official piece of transfer business when he moved to the Emirates earlier this week in a surprising £100,000 transfer from non-league side Hednesford Town.
And it seems he's settling into life as a Gooner rather nicely, after midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain described him as "very humble" whilst praising his attitude.
Bramall is expected to play predominantly in the U23 team before he's handed a chance in the senior squad, but when he does he'll be wearing the No.85.
We have absolutely no idea why he's chosen that particular number; it's not the year of his birth and a whole bunch of numbers closer to 11 are free and available.
These things matter to some football fans, and you can bet there's someone somewhere who already has '85 Bramall' on the back of his shirt.
And the other bit of utter madness with squad numbers involves former Swansea player Jonathan De Guzman, who wears the No.1 shirt for Serie A side Chievo.
It's just wrong.
If you have any idea why Bramall has picked the not-so-iconic 85 shirt, please drop us a line.
