Mesut Ozil has paid a classy tribute to France after they knocked Germany out of Euro 2016 last night.
The Arsenal playmaker was on the losing side as the French won 2-0 and booked their place in Sunday's showpiece in Paris.
Like the rest of his German team-mates, Ozil looked devastated at full-time and was consoled by Olivier Giroud and Laurent Koscielny before heading off the pitch for the end of their Euro campaign.
He obviously appreciated the support from his Arsenal pals and wasn't so sad to see it was France who were ending their tilt at European Championship glory two years after lifting the World Cup.

The tournament start was marred by violence involving fans, which was far from ideal considering the worries over security and safety of all involved before it kicked off.
And while sharing his disappointment that it wasn't Germany's night, Ozil paid tribute to France for their achievement in a tournament the country should be proud of.
"The disappointment of the bitter defeat is still the same as yesterday. It just was not meant to be and luck was not really on our side. Nevertheless, congratulations to France being a great host. The team and especially the people well deserved it after all the discussions and safety precautions throughout the country since November 2015. Adieu & merci France!"

That really is a classy message from a player who can be proud of his contribution to Germany's Euro 2016 campaign.
