Marcus Rashford is reportedly demanding his wages to be nearly quadrupled to a whopping £300,000 at Manchester United.

The United No.10 will soon enter the final year of his deal at his boyhood club and he is yet to put pen to paper on a new contract despite being in negotiations with his representatives for some months now.

Rashford is said to be on around £80,000-a-week but interest from the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid and Juventus has put him and his advisors in a better negotiating position and according to The Mirror, the 21-year old feels he should be one of the club's top earners.

Rashford, a boyhood United fan from Wythenshawe, made his debut for the club in memorable fashion in February, 2016 when a striker crisis meant he was afforded a start by Louis van Gaal against FC Midtjylland. He grasped his opportunity with both hands, scoring twice at Old Trafford in a 5-1 win.

He then followed it up by bagging a brace on his Premier League debut against Arsenal days later and then went on to continue his trend of 'firsts' by scoring the winner in the Manchester Derby and netting on his debut for England.

But there is a debate that Rashford, despite being a pretty permanent fixture for club and country, has stalled somewhat in recent times.

He only managed 10 goals in 33 Premier League appearances last term and though United would like him to tie him down until 2024, a figure of £70 million in wages is seriously steep and could be spent better.
